🏆 Roma Gladiator Open 2026
21 March, 2026
🇵🇱 Farigu Oriolani in Poland
27 July, 2026The city of Capoterra (CA) once again hosted athletes from around the world, gathered at the sports hall for three days of high-level Taekwon-Do.
On Saturday, June 20th, the international SARDINIA OPEN competition took place, with athletes from 10 nations participating. In addition to Italian representatives, delegations from Spain, France, the Netherlands, England, Argentina, the United States, Poland, Norway, and Croatia also participated. Among them were numerous internationally medal-winning athletes.
Saturday morning was dedicated to black belts, with forms, combat, and tag team competitions, traditional sparring, and patterns.
At the end of the morning, the participating schools and referees were presented, along with a demonstration.
The afternoon was dedicated to colored belts, with a large participation from the younger ones.
The competition ended on time, thanks to the tireless work of the referees, the programming and management of the IT system by Sabum Voronstov, and the organization of Sabum Farigu and Master Oriolani, along with the TkdSardegnaTeam staff.
Sunday and Monday were dedicated to training with the GOLDEN SUMMER CAMP 2026.
Nearly 200 Taekwon-Do and kickboxing athletes from Italy, Germany, Spain, Argentina, the Netherlands, England, France, Poland, the United States, and Norway, shared two intense days of training led by top-level instructors. Master Jacek and Sabum Karol Luniewski from Poland, Sabum Leandro Esposito from Argentina, Master Stephen Tapilatu from the Netherlands, Master Johann de Silva from England, and the Italians Mr. Chicco Spanu, Francesca Ceci, Dr. Simone Oliva Oliva, and Dr. Giorgia Denti, masterfully led their classes, alongside organizers Master Christian Oriolani, Sabum Dr. Silvia Farigu, and Sabum Dr. Maurizio Lai.
The classes covered numerous specialties: from boxing to Taekwon-Do sparring, from point fighting to kickboxing low kick, as well as self-defense, board breaking, traditional sparring, stretching, and mobility. The discussion on Taekwon-Do competition rules between coaches, referees, and athletes was also very interesting.
A great atmosphere characterized the two days of training, with numerous internationally renowned athletes and many amateurs attending. Thirty classes were offered over the two days. Four of these were specifically designed for the littlest ones, with lots of games and fun. At the end of each day, there was also a free-kick sparring session and a cool-down session with stretching and mobility.
A heartfelt thanks goes to all the teachers for their energy and professionalism, and to all the participants for making this event possible. Thanks also to the parents, chaperones, and staff for their essential support.
