From May 16 to 18, 2025, Miss Silvia Farigu was warmly welcomed in the city of Gifu, Japan, for two days of intensive Taekwon-Do training, hosted by Mr. Genji Kishi and his dedicated team.
โ๏ธ Arrival & Welcome
After landing in Tokyo on Friday, May 16, Silvia travelled by train to Gifu, where she received a warm welcome and enjoyed a traditional Japanese dinner featuring sushi. It was a perfect start to what would be a weekend of technical exchange and camaraderie.
๐ฅ Day 1 โ Saturday, May 17
The seminar opened with a session dedicated to black belts. Around 50 practitioners participated, showing great focus and commitment throughout the 3.5 hours of training.
The first hour was centered on mobility, strength, and leg techniques. The following two hours focused on black belt patterns, specifically from 1st to 3rd Dan. Silvia also demonstrated Gebaek and Juche, inviting questions and offering detailed explanations.
๐ National Team Preparation
In the afternoon, a focused session was held for athletes from the Japanese national team preparing for the upcoming World Championships in Croatia.
The group worked for 90 minutes on 1st Dan patterns, followed by another 90 minutes on 2nd Dan patterns, all under Silviaโs careful guidance.
๐ฑ Evening Gathering
The day concluded with a friendly dinner hosted in Mr. Genjiโs gym, where Silvia shared the evening with part of the local team in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.
๐ Day 2 โ Sunday, May 18
The second day of the seminar welcomed colored belts (from green and up), with more than 50 participants taking part. The session focused on fundamentals, balance, coordination, and movement quality.
At the end of the class, Silvia praised the group for their impressive performance and expressed her gratitude to Mr. Genji for the opportunity. She also presented him with an official TKD Sardegna โ Team FariguOriolani t-shirt.
๐ฏ Advanced Technical Session
In the afternoon, a special session was organized for a 4th Dan member of the Japanese team. The two-hour session included detailed pattern analysis in preparation for the World Championship. Silvia also performed Chon-Ji using motion sensors to support research on sine wave and rhythm in pattern execution.
๐ธ Closing Thoughts
The weekend in Gifu was marked by intense training, mutual respect, and heartfelt hospitality. Silvia was made to feel truly at home thanks to the generosity and professionalism of her hosts.
